L’Australia ha tutto che mi piace, o meglio, forse non sono mai rimasto a sufficienza per cogliere qualche sfumatura negativa. Educazione, cultura, civiltà, natura, gente.

Mi sono seduto sui gradini del path che da Bondi porta a Bronte e poi a Coge. Ho preso un pie a Woolloomoolloo e guardato i giocatori di scacchi ad Hyde Park. Ho guardato il ferry lasciare Darling Harbour verso Milton Point e poi Kirribilli. Ho camminato per Paddington fino a raggiungere Potts Point. Questo é un posto dove vivere.

Stamani sono andato a visitare l’Art Gallery of New South Wales: bella collezione di arte contemporanea, a fianco di un Tiziano, un Raffaello e un paio di De Chirico. Addirittura la Cami ha apprezzato notevolmente, malgrado la normale idiosincrasia dei teenager a cose di questo genere.

La mia settimana nell’emisfero australe sta finendo, lunedì rimetto le surrenali su un aereo e le riporto in Medio Oriente. Casualmente ho buttato un occhio a qualche casa dove potrei venire ad abitare ….

It has been more than fifty years since I began traveling across the world — and the seven seas — for work or for pleasure, always with a Leica M camera close at hand. The camera has never been an accessory; it has been a constant companion, a way of observing, remembering, and making sense of the places and people I encountered along the way. Publishing, for me, is a mirror of my state of mind and emotions. It follows my rhythm, not the other way around. You have to take it exactly as it comes. Every photograph you see here is mine. They are fragments of a life spent moving, looking, and waiting for moments to reveal themselves — often quietly, sometimes unexpectedly. This blog is not about destinations, but about presence. About what remains when the journey slows down and the shutter finally clicks.
