Giorgio, mentre mi guida nella vecchia sala, saluta ad uno ad uno quelli che incontra: c’è una conoscenza meticolosa, e il rispetto che nasce solo dal lavorare assieme, e dal farlo con le mani, fidandosi reciprocamente in un mestiere duro e pericoloso.

Mi ha aspettato sul piazzale, sotto una pioggerella che fa languire tutti i colori tranne quelli del suo giubbotto arancione con le bande rifrangenti. Roberta, appena scesi, gli ha chiesto “Ma c’è lo stocco oggi?“. “Ma forse si, lo fanno il Venerdì a settimane alterne“. L’11 Giugno 1340 nasceva la Compagnia dei Caravana, cui si affidava il compito di scaricare le navi che attraccavano nel porto di Genova: oggi mi son seduto nella loro mensa, sotto la Lanterna.

Minestrone alla Genovese e Stocco con Patate e Olive. Un euro e ottanta per i soci.

Cancellata, trasformata, rifondata, e trasformata negli anni, oggi sotto il nome di Compagnia Unica (CULMV), la Compagnia mantiene la sua tradizione, e il suo schieramento politico in un colore che da sul rosso profondo. È stato il mio primo assaggio: devo tornarci per un progetto più articolato che mi è nato in testa da qualche tempo.

They are fragments of a life spent moving, looking, and waiting for moments to reveal themselves — often quietly, sometimes unexpectedly. This blog is not about destinations, but about presence. About what remains when the journey slows down and the shutter finally clicks.
