Il Dubai Creek è un “torrente” di acqua salata che taglia storicamente in due parti la città (Bur Dubai e Deira), risalendo per oltre 14 kilometri fino alla riserva naturalistica di Ras Al Khor dove è facilissimo trovare larghi stormi di fenicotteri rosa. È stato lungo queste sponde che i membri della tribù nomade di Badi Yas costituirono il primo insediamento (nel diciannovesimo secolo), dando origine alla dinastia Al’Maktum che tutt’ora regna sull’emirato.

Il traffico tra le due sponde è oggi garantito da quattro ponti, tre fissi, Al Maktoum Bridge, Al Garhoud Bridge, Business Bay Crossing, uno galleggiante (Floating Bridge) e da un tunnel (Al Shindagha Tunnel).

It has been more than fifty years since I began traveling across the world — and the seven seas — for work or for pleasure, always with a Leica M camera close at hand. Publishing, for me, is a mirror of my state of mind and emotions. It follows my rhythm, not the other way around. You have to take it exactly as it comes. Every photograph you see here is mine. They are fragments of a life spent moving, looking, and waiting for moments to reveal themselves — often quietly, sometimes unexpectedly. This blog is not about destinations, but about presence. About what remains when the journey slows down and the shutter finally clicks.
