L’uggiosa giornata di lavoro londinese è stata interrotta da un pranzo, e il fatto che questo sia stato con due avvocati non me l’ha fatto andare di traverso. Perché?

Beh, cruciale è stato il fatto di invitare due avvocati-fanciulle. Questo, credetemi, non per passione nei confronti delle donne, ma solo per il fatto che loro si fanno qualche scrupolo a interrogarti su tematiche lavorative e abbaiarti contro nel corso di un lunch in un bel posto della City, i colleghi maschi no.

Le signore aspettano di essere tornati nella meeting room, o nell’aula dove, invece, diventano inquisitori senza pietà.

Ovvio (e con questo sono due frasi cominciate con lo stesso avverbio) io stia scherzando e le colleghe leguleie sono state indotte al silenzio solo da una fantastica pancetta al forno con tutto il grassino sopra crostificato e sfrigolante, piatto cui io ho destinato amorevoli attenzioni, estraniandomi completamente da qualsiasi accadimento circostante.

Mau sei sordo o che?” mi hanno chiesto un paio di volte mentre ero in estasi.

Il pezzo di carne, appoggiato su una generosa cazzuolata di purea di patate che arginava il sughetto non chiedendo altro che di mescolarsi e sciogliersi nel mio palato, mi ha indotto a chiedere un rispettoso silenzio affinché nulla rovinasse la mia estasi gastronomica.

Lo so, indeed (ovvio), non dimagrirò mai se continuo su questa strada.

Foto di oggi? Bhe, quando mi son ricordato che avrei potuto fotografare il piatto con la pancetta al forno era troppo tardi …..
