“A causa di un’emergenza nessun treno è in partenza” ci informa una voce bilingue nella stazione ferroviaria dell’aeroporto di Amsterdam. “Easy” dico a Mirko che in questo giro ha la sfortuna di condividere parte del mio stesso itinerario, “si raccatta una taxi”.

La coda di taxi aveva solo 86 persone davanti a noi, il problema è che la cortesissima addetta a gestirne il traffico, ci ha informati che, appunto per la stessa emergenza, nessun taxi o bus sarebbe arrivato o partito dall’aeroporto.

Nella tranquillità e serenità più generale Mirko mi ha chiesto se non fosse troppo presto per mangiare un hamburger, mentre io stavo già addentando il secondo morso del mio e lui stava rigirando il suo per scegliere la migliore area di attacco. Gran posto civile l’Olanda e gran buoni gli hamburger dell’aeroporto di Schiphol!

It has been more than fifty years since I began traveling across the world — and the seven seas — for work or for pleasure, always with a Leica M camera close at hand. They are fragments of a life spent moving, looking, and waiting for moments to reveal themselves — often quietly, sometimes unexpectedly. This blog is not about destinations, but about presence. About what remains when the journey slows down and the shutter finally clicks.
