Il lunedi e’ giorno di mercato, e Seoul non fa eccezione, a cominciare dal Noryangjin Fish Market.

Qualsiasi cosa abiti anche temporaneamente l’acqua e’ qui considerata commerciabile (sul “commestibile” sono anche in linea di massima concorde, ma ho visto cose – sui banchetti – che voi umani non potete nemmeno immaginare). Dal 1927, sulla sponda sud del fiume, c’e’ qui uno dei più vibranti mercati ittici asiatici: ho passato stamani un paio d’ore in compagnia di pesci, crostacei, molluschi e qualsiasi altra categoria, specie o genere che (mammiferi esclusi) abiti il mare.

La conservazione qui e’ soprattutto a “vivo”, con vasche a vista dalle quali soprattutto i granchi non amano restare in attesa della sentenza capitale, ma e’ anche affascinante la sezione dell’essiccato e del semilavorato in salse e salsine varie da un aspetto quasi temibile.
