Pronto ….

Oggi sto un po’ di ore dentro un paio di sigari con le ali e quando finalmente toccherò terra sarò rincitrullito a sufficienza per evitare di chiedermi cosa ci faccia dalla parte opposta del globo, in mezzo a 30 milioni di persone che parlano cinese: l’unica cosa “certa”, in un mare di incertezze e con delle onde tipo Maverick dove sto surfando alla grande, è che mi aspetto di avere due macchine fotografiche appese al collo, una con una bella scorta di differenti pellicole, l’altra con un fantastico sensore digitale full-frame che mi sta facendo divertire come un bambino.

Vado a far danni a Shanghai e ho scoperto che son almeno due anni e passa che non ci torno: in questo periodo avranno costruito 14,837 piani di abitazioni in più e gli abitanti avranno sforato i 30 milioni con facilità. Tutti, ovvio, mi parleranno solo ed esclusivamente in cinese.

Foto? Beh, ovvio, Shanghai nel Giugno del 2012 …

It has been more than fifty years since I began traveling across the world — and the seven seas — for work or for pleasure, always with a Leica M camera close at hand. The camera has never been an accessory; it has been a constant companion, a way of observing, remembering, and making sense of the places and people I encountered along the way. I started keeping this kind of journal some time ago, not as a diary in the traditional sense, but as a space where images and words could meet. This is not a publication driven by schedules or algorithms. At times I disappear for long stretches; then, inevitably, I return with semi-regular updates. Publishing, for me, is a mirror of my state of mind and emotions. It follows my rhythm, not the other way around. You have to take it exactly as it comes. Every photograph you see here is mine. They are fragments of a life spent moving, looking, and waiting for moments to reveal themselves — often quietly, sometimes unexpectedly. This blog is not about destinations, but about presence. About what remains when the journey slows down and the shutter finally clicks.

    Quello fa Tai chi!
    Divertiti in Cina: mangia solo cose morte e cotte, non respirare troppo smog, vai in un parco la mattina e fai Tai chi, fai tante belle foto e pubblicale 🙂

    Ma dai considera che vai in un posto dove pochissimi sono alti come te e in cui quasi nessuno ti capisce.. ci sarà da divertirsi.
